In 1997 I turned 50 years old and started teaching myself boogie woogie "Jerry Lee Lewis style"piano. Two years later I entered the Boston comedy scene.I performed the type of comedy that I grew up with and loved-"Henny Youngman style"one liners.
I've produced and booked many comedy and music shows.I played piano and hosted an "open mike" comedy show for two years at the Howard Johnson hotel lounge behind Fenway Park in Boston,Ma. I tried acting, taking on extra roles in movies"Mystic River"and "Fever Pitch"and TV show "Rescue Me".
I played the mascot"Larry Lee Lobster"for the Boston Comedy Festival in commercials and shows. I created and performed in "The Larry Lee Lewis Vaudeville Show"at the Elm St.Theater in Davis Sq.,
Somerville, Ma. for a seven month run...winning an award from the Improper Bostonian Magazine for Boston's Best 2002 small stage production. I co-hosted a lot of radio shows, finally getting my own "LLL Sports Comedy Show' on major Boston radio station WZZN 1510 "the zone" for two years.
I sing and play Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino, Hank Williams, Elvis, swing, blues, rockabilly, country blues, 40's, 50's, 60's, American roots music.
- I played out as a solo act, duo,and trio in many restaurants and clubs.
- I was the leader and front man for the "LLL Band"for seven years.
- I've worked for Nick's Comedy Stop for seven years and done hundreds of comedy shows as an opener, middle, and headliner act.
- I opened for Bobby Rydell, Steve Connally, Al Vega, Lenny Clarke,Richard Anthony, and performed on Horizon's Edge Casino Boat in Lynn,Ma,at Foxwoods Casino in Ct.,and Berklee Performance Center in Boston..My greatest productions were my 3 daughters,8 grandchildren, and 3 ex-wives.
- I've performed at many senior homes, over 55, over 62, assisted living, and retirement homes.
- I consider myself a variety performer, radio personality, specialty act, musical comedy act, lounge act,and senior entertainer.
I bring a lot of energy, laughs. music, personality, stage presence, and fun to my shows..plus a trademark laugh that audiences love..HAHA!!....thanks....Larry Lee Lewis
